Delete Your Account

Last updated September 3, 2026

You can delete your VoyaOne account at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone — we cannot restore a deleted account, its trips, or its messages.

1. Delete from the app

The fastest way, and the one we recommend, takes effect immediately:

  • Open the VoyaOne app and sign in.
  • Go to Account.
  • Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  • Confirm with your password.

Your account and the data listed below are removed as soon as you confirm. You are signed out on every device.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you can no longer sign in, or you have already removed the app, email privacy@voyaone.ai from the address on your account with the subject Account deletion request.

We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it — otherwise anyone who knew your email address could delete your trips. If we cannot verify ownership we will say so rather than proceed. Verified requests are completed within 30 days, and usually within a few business days.

3. What is deleted

  • Your trips.Soft-deleted exactly as pressing Delete on each one would — they disappear from every collaborator’s app, not only from yours.
  • Your memberships.Collaborator entries, group-chat membership, packing bags, journeys, vacay plans, and follows. You disappear from other people’s lists.
  • Your messages. Trip chat, group chat, and direct messages. A one-to-one thread is removed with you.
  • Your content. Notes, polls, votes, documents, memories, check-ins, games, settings, saved devices, push tokens, notifications, and SMS records.

4. What is retained, and why

A small, specific set of records survives deletion. Each one is kept because removing it would damage someone else’s data or defeat a safety control — not for our convenience.

  • Moderation history — strikes, appeals, reports, and blocks. Deleting an account must not be a way to erase a record of harm to another person.
  • Shared expenses— splits, payers, and settlements involving you. Removing a participant from a settled expense silently changes what everyone else owes. A balance is a shared fact, not one person’s data.
  • Contributions to other people’s trips — events and checklist items you created on a trip you did not own. The itinerary belongs to that trip, not to whoever typed it in.
  • A tombstone record — your account row is kept with the email address rewritten and all identifiers released, so the entries above still resolve to a name instead of a dangling reference. It cannot be signed into and holds no personal contact details.

Retention period

Deleted content is removed from the live service immediately. Encrypted backups are rotated on a rolling 35-day cycle, after which no copy remains. Retained records described above are kept for as long as the purpose that justifies them applies, or as required by law.

5. Deleting data without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove specific information. Individual trips, messages, documents, and memories can each be deleted in the app, and doing so removes them for collaborators too.
